Student/classroom activities that complement the study of CHA3U. They include organizing charts for student analysis of significant figures and events in American history. The activities are designed to extend Emond Montgomery’s Trillium-listed American History. Also included: an addendum on President Barack Obama.

The activities focus on late 19th- and 20th-century figures and events in American history, including Booker T. Washington, the dropping of atomic bombs on Japan, President John F. Kennedy, and the Vietnam War.

Also included is a course culminating assessment, America On Trial, a whole-class mock trial that requires both a performance and a written component. Assessment rubrics are included.

Other resources — assessment rubrics, organizing charts, and analytical tools — covering the whole course will be added as they become available.
